How do I move from Tier 1 to Tier 2?
Open your Duckling Profile, scroll to the onboarding checklist, and follow the prompts to add your phone number and then complete the T2 identity form (legal name, address). Once all three steps are done, your certificate is promoted to ISSUED automatically.
Is my personal data stored securely?
Yes. Legal name, address, and phone are stored encrypted at rest in our DynamoDB identity store and are never sold or shared with third parties. Phone verification is handled via Cognito and address data is accessible only from your authenticated session.
Can I see what data is on my birth certificate?
Absolutely — visit birth-certificate.html when signed in. Tier 2 certificates include your legal name, city, country, IP of issuance, device info, and issuance timestamp. You can also download the full JSON payload.
What is Tier 3 and when is it available?
Tier 3 is reserved for spaceduck operators and institutional accounts that need elevated platform access — such as API access, higher agent limits, and institutional certificates. It is in design and will be announced on the roadmap.
Do I have to verify to use Spaceduckling?
Tier 1 (email only) is the minimum to hatch. You can use the platform at Tier 1, but to get a certified birth certificate and unlock full features you'll need to complete Tier 2 verification.
